Explore the Catholic Faith

Come with your questions. Discover what Catholics believe, why it matters, and how faith can transform your life.

Whether you are curious about the Catholic faith, considering becoming Catholic, returning to the Church after time away, or simply wanting to understand your faith more deeply, you are warmly invited to join us for OCIA – the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. You do not need to have everything figured out before you come. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and wherever you are on your journey of faith.

Beginning Wednesday, September 23 at 6:30 pm, we will gather each week for an engaging 10-part journey through the heart of the Catholic faith. Our sessions will be based on the Augustine Institute’s acclaimed Symbolon: The Faith of the Church series, which explores the story, beliefs, sacraments and spiritual life of Catholic Christianity in a way that is accessible, thoughtful and relevant to everyday life.

Throughout the series, we will explore some of life’s biggest questions: Who is God? Why did Jesus come into the world? What does it mean to have faith? Why do Catholics celebrate the Mass and the Sacraments? What is the role of Mary and the saints? How do Scripture and Tradition work together? And perhaps most importantly, what does any of this mean for the way we live our lives today? Each gathering offers an opportunity to learn, reflect, ask questions and have meaningful conversations in a welcoming environment.

There is no expectation that attending means you have decided to become Catholic. OCIA is a place for exploration and discernment. If you are considering joining the Catholic Church, the journey can help prepare you to take that next step. If you are already Catholic but would like a deeper understanding of what the Church teaches and why, you are equally welcome. And if you are simply curious, come and see.

Faith is a journey, and sometimes the most important step is simply being willing to begin. We would love to welcome you to Our Lady of the Mountains as we explore the beauty, depth and richness of the Catholic faith together.
