Community Dinner

Community Dinner

Good food. Good company. A place to belong.

Once a month, we open our doors and gather around the table for our Community Dinner, and everyone is invited.

Our Lady of the Mountains is part of a wonderfully diverse community. People come to Whistler from across Canada and around the world, some for a lifetime, some for a season and some who are still figuring out how long they will call this place home. Wherever you are from, however long you have been here, and whether or not you are Catholic, there is a place for you at our table.

Our Community Dinner is a relaxed, family-friendly potluck where parishioners, friends, neighbours and Whistler locals can share a meal and get to know one another. If you are part of our parish, we especially encourage you to bring along a friend, co-worker, neighbour or family member. If you have never stepped inside our church before, this is a wonderful reason to come. There is no program and no expectation. Just food, conversation, laughter and an opportunity to connect.

If you are able, we would love for you to bring a favourite dish to share or lend a hand with preparations, serving or clean-up. But please don't let that stop you from coming. Bringing food is never a requirement. Come empty-handed if you need to. Come on your own if you don't know anyone. Come straight from work, the mountain or wherever your day has taken you. Just come as you are.

Whistler can be an incredible place to live, but we also know that finding your people and feeling truly connected can take time. We want our Community Dinner to be one small way of changing that. A place to meet someone new, reconnect with an old friend, share a meal and be reminded that there are people here who care about you and that you belong in this community.

So pull up a chair and join us. There is always room for one more.

Everyone is welcome. You don't need to be Catholic. You don't need to bring anything. You simply need to come.
